‘1977@Born in Tokyo (currently residing in Tokyo).
‘1994 Summer@As a junior in high school, traveled alone in India and Nepal, then traveled around the Yakushima and Ogasawara Islands,sleeping in the open. Subsequently went abroad to Vietnam, Cambodia,Thailand, then kayaked the Yukon River through Alaska and Canada.
‘1997@Stayed on the Woleai Atoll, Federated States of Micronesia.
‘1998 May@Climbed to the summit of Mt. McKinley (Alaska, 6,194m),the highest peak Northern America. Apprenticed to Mau Piailug, said to be the last South Pacific navigator, to learn the art of traditional Micronesian navigation, including star navigation.
‘1999 Summer@Traveled in Russia and east Africa (Kenya, Tanzania,Ethiopia, Uganda). In July, single-handedly gained the summits of Mt.Elbrus (Russia, 5,633m), the highest peak in Europe and in August, Mt.Kilimanjaro (Tanzania, 5,895m), the highest peak in Africa.
‘2000@Participated in gPole to Pole 2000,h an international project produced by Canadian adventurer Martin Williams. In the company of youth from seven countries, in nine months (April 5 to December 31) traversed from the North Magnetic Pole to the South Magnetic Pole relying only on man-powered mobile devices, such as skis, bicycle,kayak, and also moving on foot. At the completion of the project,remained in Antarctica.
‘2001@In January, single-handedly gained the summits of Vinson Massif (Antarctica, 4,897m) and Mt. Aconcagua (Argentina, 6,960m), the highest peaks of Antarctica and South America, respectively. In March, climbed to the summits of Mt. Kosciuszko (Australia, 2,230m), highest summit in Australia, and then in May, reached the summit of Qomolangma (Tibet,8,848m). In doing so gained the highest summits of the seven continents of the world.
‘2002 Spring@Stayed in Greenland and experienced the lifestyle of the native people. From August through October, revisited India, followed by travels through Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran, finally reaching New York. After a brief return to Japan, traversed Afghanistan. Graduated from Waseda University in September. Presently studying at the Master's program of the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.
‘2003@A nation-wide traveling solo exhibit of photos taken on the Pole to Pole [P2P] trip, gFor Circumpolar Starsh opened in Tokyo (Epson Imaging Gallery Epsite).
